Let me start by saying that not too long ago, I butted heads with Martin Cole over some of his responses here. The combination of One Star reviews and his responses kept me from buying the book.Later, after finding a market situation in the S&P 500 e-mini that was clearly a manipulation, I decided to give his ideas a chance.I’m glad I did and I recommend this book to all traders.It’s an easy read but the key word is READ. You can’t skim it, scan it or review it. It has to be read carefully because many important ideas are buried in the writing. You have to study the illustrations carefully. If you do that, the light will go on.I strongly disagree with those who say “no method is offered.” It absolutely is. I was finding ACCUMULATION-MANIPULATION-PROFIT RELEASE areas immediately.The book does pitch his software in one chapter which I personally did not like. I don’t like paying for a book and having something else up-sold to me. On the other hand, it’s not like Cole is the first author in this business to do that.I think it’s also very clear that this is the tip of the iceberg and if you want the complete Martin Cole method, you have to buy his course. But anyone with common sense can take just what’s in this book and use it to trade or at least recognize areas where you should NOT trade.Overall delivery of the book via Kindle was fine. Price is fine. I got my money’s worth. I recommend the book to any trader, new or experienced.

As other reviewers have mentioned, the author is encouraging good reviews of his book (this is done within the book, no less) by promising reviewers free information.Martin Cole is living a life of luxury in New Zealand. He apparently can't be bothered to read his own book, neither at the time he self-published it in 2011 (If you buy it, you'll see why no respectable publishing house would have published it in this form), nor when he revised it in 2017. How do I know this? The book has more typos and grammatical errors than I have seen in my 50 years of reading published books. It's even completely missing the "Figure 19" he refers to on page 75, but a duplicate Figure 18 appears a second time there, instead. How can NOBODY have ever told him this? Or, if they did, he chose not to add Figure 19 and fix all of the typos when revising the book 6 years later!The amount of white space in this book is ludicrous and unbelievable. It's an obvious attempt for him to stretch it to the maximum number of pages possible. There are two blank lines between nearly every paragraph & between many sentences, and three of what appear to be chapters, consist of ONE paragraph followed by a full or nearly full page of pure white. Amazon lists "214 pages" in this book's description. The actual book stops numbering at 177. That's 37 pages not fully devoted to the subject at hand, not to mention the blank pages.I actually gained some good knowledge regarding the action created by market makers. However, again as other reviewers have noted, Martin has left out the key information - specifically: how to recognize whether a market maker is accumulating buys or accumulating sells during a consolidation period. You will supposedly have access to this secret strategy if you pay him either quarterly or thousands of dollars annually, for a subscription to his trading software. Martin does mention that you can trade without this software or missing bit of information, and I certainly will try. As you should know, guessing incorrectly about the direction after the first breakout from consolidation can cost you dearly when trading.So, the bottom line: The book gets 0 stars from me for its form. I'll give it two stars for content, which is only partially useful and lures you to his real cash cow - the software subscription. That yields an average of one star.

I would find it more useful to have more background along with the theory. I would also like to see some examples that showed how the theory can be applied. But that is where the 'wizard' has stopped to point away from the curtain to the system and program that will now reveal the solution or alleviate your pain. As usual with most systems you will need to spend more to determine if it will work for you. Understanding market makers may be a part of the the solution but when 90% of the trades are being made by institutions I'm curious to understand if those institutions are also being 'played' by the market makers when many of those people have come from that environment. I enjoyed the read but, from my perspective, he didn't give anything actionable to help my Trading.

This book points out a very important point in trading: know your opponent's strategy first before you plan your own strategy to counter. I have been studying the market and paper trading for a while. I have taken a lot of technical analysis courses. But so far I am not convinced that the markets are natural or mechanical systems that the price movements follow some natural laws like Fibonacci, Pitch and Fork or Eliot Waves. This book points out that the price movements are the results of human manipulations or interventions. Chart patterns are the forms but not the content. By looking at the price actions on charts in many financial markets and listening to the description of this book and free You Tube videos by Martin, I am convinced that the price movements we see in charts are the foot prints of these manipulations.
